Gearbox Software has announced the first campaign add-on for the critically acclaimed Borderlands 2, which soared high on video game sales charts for September, according to NPD. Titled Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, it will release on Oct. 16 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

This is the first of four DLC campaigns. It will cost $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points, but those Borderlands 2 junkies who purchased the Season Pass for $29.99 or 2400 Microsoft Points know they already will own it, plus the last three add-ons coming in the future. It's a risky purchase since you don't know what you're getting. Hopefully Gearbox delivers.
